The Billiard Room is an historic, and quirky building set in the grounds of The Close, an 18th century house facing the duck pond, on the village green, in Biddestone.

It is ideally placed to visit the World Heritage City of Bath, and to explore the historic villages and countryside of Wiltshire & the Cotswolds.

Originally a blanket factory, and subsequently the village school, it was converted into a billiard room by the owner of The Close in the early part of the twentieth century.

It has recently undergone sympathetic restoration to create a unique living space, with a four-poster bed, living area and breakfast bar.

The building is entered through a grand, old oak door, has a magnificent beamed vaulted roof, and a large stone fireplace with a wood burner.

The property is equipped with a wardrobe & chest of drawers, a large leather sofa & TV, and a freestanding cooking range with electric oven & ceramic hob. A full range of crockery, glasses , cutlery & cooking utensils are provided.

There is a separate utility area, providing a fridge & sink, together with a shower room & WC.

Guests can wander through the orchard with several fruit trees, and the 2 acre paddock, home to Ossie and Bertie, the donkeys. This joins the village playing fields, and leads to attractive walks on adjoining farmland and woods.

Residents have a parking area on the gravel drive of The Close. Recycling facilities are available

Biddestone is easily accessible by road, being only 10 minutes from Junction 17 of the M4, and by train, with Chippenham Station 4 miles away. The property is available for weekly rental from Friday to Friday, with long weekend and mid-week breaks by special request.
