The Village of Biddestone

A lively fete - The Close, Biddestone, Wiltshire near BathBiddestone has been described as the quintessential English village.
Situated at the southernmost tip of the Cotswolds, and within easy reach of the World Heritage City of Bath, the village is an ideal holiday location for anyone wishing to explore this beautiful part of Britain, whilst enjoying the peace and tranquillity of village life.

Close by are the historic villages of Lacock and Castle Combe, and the pretty market town of Corsham is only 2 miles away, giving access to a wide range of shops, restaurants and amenities.

With Anglo-Saxon origins, the village prospered in the 17th century due to the wool trade. The heart of the village is the green, surrounded by 17th & 18th century houses built from mellow Cotswold stone. The duck pond was originally a watering place for cattle from the local farms.
